Traven Stout Photography | Traven Stout New Orleans Based Wedding Photographer

New Orleans Wedding Photographer

When two people are present and in love you can feel a radiance of happiness. I love capturing this radiance and being able to share it in an image with my clients. It's the most rewarding part of my job. As a New Orleans Native and an experienced wedding photographer I can bring a big easy charm to your wedding photos. I have been described as professional and easy going. I have a fine art upbringing in photography and I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and photographic processes. From polaroids to large format cameras to antique lenses on my digital camera. I am continuously trying new things and creating intriguing results.

Film Photography

It was in the darkroom at the University of New Orleans where I first experienced the smell of photographic chemicals, the meditative state of processing film, and the magic of making prints and watching them develop under a red light. It was these experiences that made me fall in love with the analog process of film photography. Film photography is what helped me perfect my craft. It taught me to slow down, perfect my frame, and wait for the perfect moment before hitting the shutter. When it comes to wedding photography I'll typically have at least one kind of analog camera on me to play with. If your really like the look of film photography I can shoot your whole wedding on film at my regular rate plus the cost of the film and processing/scanning of the film. Let me know the type of look your into and I can match a camera and shooting style with that look. From my eloquent 8x10 Camera to my toy Russian Lomo camera, each camera has its own quirks, taste, and personality.

Polaroid Prints

Polaroid prints are polaroids made from digital images.

Polaroid Emulsion Lifts

Polaroid emulsion lifts are one of a kind hand made prints. It is a tedious process that starts with taking a polaroid and tearing it apart to get the inner photographic emulsion. Once you get that inner emulsion you lay it on to a piece of water color paper. The result is a beautiful sepia toned print that has a classic aesthetic.  (Swipe or click here polaroid emulsion lifts)

Traven is absolutely wonderful!!! He shot our wedding on 4/2/17. He was great about communicating before our wedding to get to know us and what we were looking for in our pictures. The day of, he was on time, professional, and super easy going...which is exactly what we wanted on our wedding day! He got absolutely beautiful candid shots of our day capturing all the special moments we want to remember and also made sure to get all the specific shots we had asked him to be sure to get as well. Traven, you are so skilled in what you do, and Jared and I thank you SO much for being a part of our special day and giving us gorgeous pictures to remember our day for years to come!❤️❤️❤️   -Michelle T.  facebook reveiews
